Need a job
I got a job interview today. It's a Christmas temp position, hopefully it can go on to be permanent. It's one of them group interviews, which is to be expected if staff need to be hired in bulk. I've been to a couple of group interviews before, so I should be alright. Hopefully I won't mess it up somehow. I did send out quite a few CV's, but I have yet to hear from any other companies. I suppose it is a little early for some places to hire Christmas staff but I wanted to get the ball rolling straight away.
Yesterday I had a flat-out immediate start job offer that I applied for over five months ago. There are a few problems with this job offer:
- They wanted me to start the day they called me;
- It was only ten hours a week, two hours each day;
- It was too far to travel to;
- The hours were late in the evening, so I couldn't get a bus back.
I had to turn it down, I found the lady on the phone to be quite rude anyway. If you want staff hired, be courteous on the phone. This job I have the interview for seems more ideal for me and I may get full-time hours which I need right now. I hope I get hired, but it may be a week before I find out if they want me or not. I don't like waiting.
