A "beary" good time
Well, I can certainly say the first day of work was interesting. I spent an hour being trained up on fitting rooms, thinking it would be just a regular day. However, I was asked by my manager to escort a colleague around the store wearing a bear suit. We have certain toys we have to get people buying, so the company hopes that if somebody goes around in a bear suit, the kids will love it and we can get their parents buying them a mini version of the bear.
On my first day of working for the company, there I am holding a bear's hand walking them around the store, while promoting the cuddly toy offer. I felt a little silly, but it had to be better than doing the regular tasks. Furries would have had a field day. The adults seemed more interested in the bear than the children, most of the kids were right misery guts. Kids just don't know how to have fun these days, eh?
After that, I spent the rest of my shift tidying and making sure clothes were in the right size order. This is referred to as “recovering”. I'm going to be trained up on tills on Monday after work, that should be fun.
