Non-aching feet = fun

For the past couple of weeks working at my new job, it's been agony. Due to having to stand up for a long period of time, my feet ached like there was no tomorrow. No matter what position I stood or sat in, they would cause me grief. The shifts would drag and I felt unhappy. When I came home, I slumped on the sofa and wouldn't get up from it until bed time, while constantly whining about my feet because they would still be aching all night. I was awful to live with, I'm sure.

However, yesterday my feet didn't ache at all. I was very surprised. People said I would get used to standing up for so long, but I didn't believe it. Yesterday my shift went so quick, it was the best day of work yet. I literally checked my watch once during recovering the store which is good for me. When my feet felt like they were on fire and I would have happily chopped them off, I would check my watch every few minutes hoping for the day to end. As I made my way home last night, I thought, “Wow, my feet didn't ache at all!”. It was wonderful. I know it sounds silly, but it was a major thing for me. Now I can do my job without feeling like crap each day.

If only the bus ride home was as pleasant. The only thing that ached when I got home was my backside. The bus was full and the person who allowed me to sit by them gave me one third of the seat, they were lounging in their seat as if they were on holiday. I was sat sideways on the edge of my seat and the bus seemed to hit every pot hole and bump it possibly could. My poor tooshie.
