Baking fun
I have been doing quite a bit of baking lately. I baked bread last week, tonight I made some butterfly cakes. I’m really starting to get back into it now. I wish I had pictures, but a relative has borrowed our camera cable and it hasn’t been returned yet. My next goal is to make some muffins, hopefully I can have a bash at them sometime next week.
I want to cook more, I’m sick of ordering our food in. I want to be able to make delicious meals that I can tolerate. I can’t seem to eat most of my own cooking, I have no idea why. I don’t think I have much confidence in myself when it comes to cooking. Sean loves the meals I make and encourages me to get into the kitchen more. I have been looking in our cooking book to find recipes I like the sound of, I have seen a few and will have a go at them. I hope to document my cooking in this blog, hopefully sharing my experiences with others will encourage me to keep it up. I want to be able to photograph my work, but I can’t without this darn cable.
I ought to like cooking more than I do, I always used to help my nan in the kitchen. I especially liked helping with the baking and being able to lick the spoon afterwards. We used to sing songs while mixing ingredients, I can’t remember what they were though. My nan is my inspiration, not only in cooking but in life. She was an amazing cook and amazing human being. I remember how I always used to nag at her so we could start baking, she used to get quite cross with me but I feel deep down she was glad I was so enthusiastic. I remember she used to always use a big, beige ceramic bowl. After she passed away it disappeared, but I happened to find one exactly the same in a charity shop. I now use this bowl for all my baking, it’s sentimental to me. I only wish it was the original bowl my nan had.

That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling lately! I’ve posted pictures on livejournal but I’ve yet to put them up on my site. I want to be able to cook decent food and to be able to bake more. So I’m currently buying all new baking supplies
It’s like a new mini-hobby
