Last night I went to an All Star Wrestling show with Sean and my sisters. I booked the tickets last minute seeing the show advertised in the local newspaper, the show was at the local theatre. I had low expectations of it, but decided to give it a go. We were knew former WWE wrestler Gangrel was going to be there, but were pleasantly surprised to see that Bryan Danielson was there under the “American Dragon” moniker. Danielson is known to most wrestling fans (the ones “in the know” anyway) as one of, if not the best in the business. My sister Tina was amazed he was here in our town since she is a big fan. I had heard of him and saw a match or two of his, which were good. I saw his match last night, I was very impressed. Only five of us were cheering him, nobody else knew who he was, sadly. The audience consisted of young WWE fans (marks), so they wouldn’t have known since Danielson works in the independant circuit and the promotion Ring of Honor. The guy (I can’t even remember his name) he was against was a John Cena carbon copy. He wore the same sort of bottoms and had similar moves and taunts. He was terrible, but of course everybody else was cheering him because he was from “Een-guhh-luhnd”, as he pronounced it. Got to love being a “smark” (intelligent wrestling fan), eh?

Former WWE tag-team champion Rene Dupree was also there in a tag-team match against two English lads who looked like they would be more fitting in the pop group, Blazin’ Squad. One of the lad’s trousers were obviously too small for him, so we had a “lovely” view of his undies. Sean yelled at him to pull up his trousers, everyone around us burst into laughter. Dupree was very entertaining on the microphone, it was an okay match on his part.

My sisters went backstage to meet the wreslers. I didn’t go with them, but I will next time we go. It was a good night out, I recommend it. We’ll be going next time they’re here.

“Pull your trousers up, you dirty bugger!”

Quote of the year.
