Retro gaming

I absolutely love old games, as a child I owned a Super Nintendo and a Mega Drive. What can I say? I was a spoiled kid. Unfortunately I no longer have the consoles, plus they’re hard to come by, so I have to rely on the good old Internet to keep my retro gaming craving at bay. An online friend of mine records their emulator game play and posts it on YouTube, I thought it would be a cool idea to record my own. I have done exactly that. I have a couple of game plays up already but I will record more. The purpose? Firstly to give fellow retro gaming fans a blast from the past, secondly for fun. I am open to game play requests, if you want to recommend a game, please let me know. In particular I want to find games that suck so I have an excuse to have a good laugh and snark. This point in time I will only be uploading Super Nintendo game plays since the emulator I have for the Mega Drive has no recording feature, plus I can’t seem to find one that does. If anyone could point me in the right direction I’d be delighted.

There is a question I get asked, “Sonic or Mario?”. To me that’s like asking, “Sega or Nintendo?”. While most people had a favourite, I didn’t and still don’t. I found both companies came up with good consoles and I loved both the Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Brothers series. My husband prefers Sega, I have no preference. What is your opinion? Which do you prefer? Do you like them both the same? Do you not like them at all?

I don’t have a preference either, but I liked Mario more than Sonic.

I liked them both. I was never one for console wars. If the games are good, I don’t want console it’s own.

I will say this though, the Mario games were a lot harder to beat than Sonic.

Mario is way better than Sonic. I never really played Sonic as I was growing up. I didn’t have a Sega system and none of my friends did either. My sister LOVES Sonic and has like every Sonic game. I love the old school Nintengo games. Heck, I love Atari!
