Pet peeves
Everybody has pet peeves, something that annoys them. Recently I’ve been annoyed at a fair few things, I will share them with you.
Cheating in multiplayer games
You’re in an online multiplayer game, doing quite well, shooting a few players, “owning” in general. All of a sudden a player comes into sight and shoots you dead, just one shot. Usually this person has a ridiculously high kill ratio compared to the amount of deaths. Odd how these “gamers” time it exactly right as you’re heading around the corner, eh? Wrong. More than likely these people are cheating. For Call of Duty 2, there is a popular mod available called a wall hack, it allows the player to see through walls, therefore being able to spot enemies no matter where they are. Sometimes these pests also use an auto aiming bot for good measure. Auto aim takes the work out of having to aim manually, it takes the fun out of it too.
I don’t see why people have to cheat in a multiplayer game, it takes the fun out of the experience and unbalances the game. Cheating also turns some decent players away from playing, so you’re left with the gaming sheisters. It seems nobody wants to be seen as the “noob” so they feel they need to use these hacks to look like they’re a pro. Cheating causes the opposite effect. It makes the player seem even more of a noob. Thankfully the majority of Call of Duty players frown upon cheating, still there are a few that think they will look cool from doing so. Methods are being implemented to prevent cheating, but like everything else, there are always ways to beat the system.
Constant shouting
Why oh why do people feel the need to constantly yell all the time? There always seems to be this one woman around my area that is always shouting for her many children. Every single day this woman shouts and it’s distracting. I feel like shouting back, but that would be counter-productive, right? Maybe she ought to have her children on a lead if she keeps losing them.
Junk mail
No, I do not need car or home insurance. I certainly do not need a loan or mortgage, either. I do not like Dominoes Pizza, I prefer Perfect Pizza.
Sarah Palin
It is not just what she believes in that irks me, it is her backwards thinking. I may be British, but it’s still worrying this woman may be president someday.
What are your pet peeves?
