So, Obama did it

Barack Obama is the next president of the USA. I am happy about it, good on him. That is all.

Bingo was his name-o

Since I have been married, I have been asked the same question by many people: “when are you having kids?”. The childfree would call it being “bingoed”. I sometimes get annoyed by the question because I believe it is a personal subject that shouldn’t really be discussed. To me it’s somewhat like asking somebody, “when are you going to the toilet?”. I am not implying that children are like fecal matter (ask me on a bad day and I might say otherwise!), it’s just I find discussing when I will have children uncomfortable. I can appreciate that some people have a curiosity for these sorts of things, but still I think it’s nosey. I appreciate people’s privacy and do not ask questions like this.

The truth is I do not know when I will have kids, or whether I will at all. The flat I live in has a no children policy, even no pets (the landlord is not flexible). I’d love to have a pet, but that’s not even possible right now. First we need to move out, we need somewhere with less restrictions and more room. Right now there isn’t a chance of expanding our family. We need more money in order to move, so that is what Sean and I are aiming for right now. When we move, we’ll see what happens. Until then, we’re a family of two.

Why am I blogging about this? Near my birthday I do a lot of thinking. I am getting older, which makes me think more about my life. That and I do not seem to have anything else to write about. Care to give me blogging ideas? ;)
