New features

December 30, 2007 – 10:53 am | Filed in: Web Design

I have been having a good tinker with the website, the major change is the design. I didn’t like my previous effort, so I vamped up the graphics and added a few more in. I added a few more plugins, too. I know have a guestbook, a question page and I also took time to write a disclaimer. Would you like to receive an e-mail when I update the blog or any of my pages? Then join the mailing list. You just need to enter your e-mail address, press the button and you are subscribed, you can unsubscribe at any time. Your e-mail address will not be given out to third parties. Rest assured I will not spam your inbox, unless I don’t like you (I’m joking!). You can find the mailing list widget on the right of this page.

You may find more pages appearing and a few changes here and there. I want to get the site how I want it, with all the features I want. I’m very happy with the design, so I’m half way there!

Looking back at 2007

December 28, 2007 – 7:54 am | Filed in: Personal

2007 has been quite a year for me. So many things have happened, some good some not so good. I’ll go through a list of things that have happened.

  • I almost got evicted due to my landlord being the devil incarnate, it’s a long story.
  • I have had two jobs, both have been temporary (boo!).
  • I spent most of the year planning our wedding.
  • I got married.
  • I went on honeymoon to Blackpool.
  • I got to visit the Blackpool Pleasure Beach and ride on the Pepsi Max Big One, yay!
  • I went to the top of the Blackpool Tower.
  • We had a nice, quiet first Christmas as husband and wife.

I’m sure other things happened, but these are the most memorable and important. Looking back on the year, I spent most of it planning the wedding, most of my efforts went into that. My hopes for 2008 are that I can get a permanent job instead of doing temp work here and there. I would also love to move out of this place into somewhere bigger. I would also like to think about expanding our little family. I won’t lie, I have been broody since Sean and I got married. I would actually like to have a child. I’m not a child-hating bitch like people make me out to be, I just don’t appreciate bad parents and misbehaving kids. I would adore my own kids, by that I mean if I adopted too. It’s just other people’s kids I tend to get iffy about.

We’ll have to see what 2008 brings, I am going to go with the flow.

Deck the halls with bows of drama

December 27, 2007 – 10:51 am | Filed in: The Intarwebs

You know what? I am going to admit it. I love a big peice of steaming Internet drama to read in the morning. I tend to stay out of it and just watch the train wreck unfold. What can I say? I’m bored and I have no life. :P However, it’s the festive season and people are still at it. Can’t we just cease the petty name-calling and gossiping for one day?

The latest drama is the same old drama that has been going on for what seems like eternity. I can’t believe this stuff is still going on. The latest is blogging mothers Ranee and Anna (surprise, surprise) and a few others, revolting against the big, bad, mean “Internet stalkers” in the form of TGO and Becky. I don’t have a problem with these two, but others seem to be offended by them. I don’t think they’re Internet stalkers, either. Anyway, all I can make from it is the mums are offended and outraged (as usual) because somebody has a different opinion than them. While I have nothing against stay-at-home mothers, it seems most the drama is started by them. They keep going on their lives are fulfilled and busy, yet they have all this time to post nasty, vindictive blog posts and comments. They also have an agenda to get TGO off the Internet, which isn’t working and won’t work. I know I will get the old, “Ooh you have no life you’re posting… two days after Christmas!” but I don’t care. Yes, I have no life at the moment. I’m unemployed and looking for work. My life at the moment will just consist of job hunting and cleaning the house. Not much of a life to me, but I’m sure I can get out of this rut. Anything some anonymous, drama-monger Joe that doesn’t matter to me types in my comments isn’t going to send me over the edge since they’re a non-entity. I think others ought to follow suit.

What am I getting at here? Even though it was Christmas recently, people were still on the Internet leaving one another nasty comments. Can’t you all just quit for once in your lives?
