Features a-plenty

I have added a bunch of new content to the site. You may notice there are sections, too. I have added two new sections, “Stuff” and “Links”. I am very happy with how the site is going, I’ve managed to get some decent content up. I wouldn’t have been able to get the new features up so quickly if it hadn’t had have been for Melissa’s wonderful tutorial on dynamic Wordpress sidebars. The method I had previously used got very confusing and time-consuming. I’m now in control, however. :)

I have been inspired to make some pixel images. I have these up available for “adoption” and whatnot. Here I present to you the Fairy Kao-Anis! Here is one as a preview:

Cute, isn’t it? I’m quite pleased with how they have turned out. I’m sure there will be more to come.

Please let me know what you think about the new pages. I’m also open to suggestions to what else I can add.

Retro gaming

I absolutely love old games, as a child I owned a Super Nintendo and a Mega Drive. What can I say? I was a spoiled kid. Unfortunately I no longer have the consoles, plus they’re hard to come by, so I have to rely on the good old Internet to keep my retro gaming craving at bay. An online friend of mine records their emulator game play and posts it on YouTube, I thought it would be a cool idea to record my own. I have done exactly that. I have a couple of game plays up already but I will record more. The purpose? Firstly to give fellow retro gaming fans a blast from the past, secondly for fun. I am open to game play requests, if you want to recommend a game, please let me know. In particular I want to find games that suck so I have an excuse to have a good laugh and snark. This point in time I will only be uploading Super Nintendo game plays since the emulator I have for the Mega Drive has no recording feature, plus I can’t seem to find one that does. If anyone could point me in the right direction I’d be delighted.

There is a question I get asked, “Sonic or Mario?”. To me that’s like asking, “Sega or Nintendo?”. While most people had a favourite, I didn’t and still don’t. I found both companies came up with good consoles and I loved both the Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Brothers series. My husband prefers Sega, I have no preference. What is your opinion? Which do you prefer? Do you like them both the same? Do you not like them at all?
